Among other important activities, the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) plays an important role in addressing social issues in cocoa farming communities, including education and awareness of safe, responsible labour practices.

The WCF and the United States Agency for International Development Agency (USAID) have launched a multi-year partnership that will provide greater opportunities for thousands of young people in cocoa farming in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.

The partnership know as ECHOES (Empowering cocoa households with opportunities and education solutions) Alliance, delivers teacher training, curriculum development and life skills training programmes which aim to increase school attendance, raise the number of trained teachers and improve literacy levels for young people.
